Sooran is a small village of 698 hectares in Gogunda Tehsil in Udaipur district, also called 'the city of lakes' set amidst the Aravalli Ranges in the state of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Sooran depends on Udaipur, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Sooran is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Sooran's pin code is 313705[4], and village code is 03080700. The area of Sooran is segregated as 11 hectares irrigated area, 33 hectares unirrigated, the 328 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 58 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Sooran has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Sooran is a census village in the district of Udaipur, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 753 and has total administration over 148 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Scheduled caste counts for 1 (0.13%) males constitute 1 (0.13%) of the population and females 0 (0.0%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 729 (96.81%) males constitute 370 (49.14%) of the population and females 359 (47.68%).

The workforce is 216 male, 220 female with 128 (29.36%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 86 males and 42 females. 16 males and 5 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 66 male and 37 female agricultural labor. 308 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Udaipur to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
