Soori is a small village of 270 hectares in Jhalrapatan Tehsil in Jhalawar district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Soori depends on Bakani, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 39.48% of the total supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Soori is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Soori's pin code is 326023[4], and village code is 04024100. The area of Soori is segregated as 39.48 hectares irrigated area, 159.03 hectares unirrigated, the 60.27 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 11.06 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Soori has One public telephone. Soori has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Soori is a census village in the district of Jhalawar, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 418 and has total administration over 82 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Soori has 57 children, 32 boys and 25 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 36 (8.61%) males constitute 16 (3.83%) of the population and females 20 (4.78%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 174 (41.63%) males constitute 93 (22.25%) of the population and females 81 (19.38%).

The workforce is 114 male, 119 female with 214 (91.85%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 110 males and 104 females. 68 males and 1 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 39 male and 103 female agricultural labor. 19 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Bakani and Jhalawar to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
