Sopra is a small village of 1341 hectares in Bhopalgarh Tehsil in Jodhpur district, also known as the Blue City in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Sopra depends on Pipar City, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, Two Wells supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Sopra is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tubewell. Sopra's pin code is 342603[4], and village code is 01952500. The area of Sopra is segregated as 311 hectares irrigated area, 705 hectares unirrigated, the 58 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 267 hectare area not available for cultivation.

The village is connected with a single bus service. Sopra has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Sopra is a census village in the district of Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1264 and has total administration over 240 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Sopra has 140 children, 80 boys and 60 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 308 (24.37%) males constitute 158 (12.50%) of the population and females 150 (11.87%).

The workforce is 334 male, 324 female with 437 (66.41%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 237 males and 200 females. 183 males and 193 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 13 male and 2 female agricultural labor. 221 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Pipar City and Jodhpur to sell leather shoes and make their living.
