Sotwara is a small village of 1192 hectares in Nawalgarh Tehsil in Jhunjhunu district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Sotwara depends on MUKANDGARH, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, which is 477.00% of the total supply, One tank, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Sotwara is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Well. Sotwara's pin code is 333707[4], and village code is 00738400. The area of Sotwara is segregated as 477 hectares irrigated area, 564 hectares unirrigated, the 12 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 139 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Sotwara is a census village in the district of Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 3148 and has total administration over 605 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

- Scheduled caste counts for 711 (22.59%) males constitute 372 (11.82%) of the population and females 339 (10.77%).
- Scheduled tribe counts for 73 (2.32%) males constitute 39 (1.24%) of the population and females 34 (1.08%).

According to a census 2011 report, 1934 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 915 male, 1019 female with 1277 (66.03%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 595 males and 682 females. 456 males and 635 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 24 male and 16 female agricultural labor. 657 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.
They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of MUKANDGARH and Jhunjhunu to sell wood furniture and make their living.
