Sumer is a small village of 1502 hectares in Desuri Tehsil in Pali district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Sumer depends on Sadri, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 22.00% of the total supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Sumer is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Sumer's pin code is 306703[4], and village code is 02460500. The area of Sumer is segregated as 48 hectares irrigated area, 58 hectares unirrigated, the 121 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 204 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Sumer has One post office (Sumer B.O) and Three public telephones. The village is connected with a single bus service. Sumer has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Sumer is a census village in the district of Pali, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 954 and has total administration over 165 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Sumer has 146 children, 76 boys and 70 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 63 (6.60%) males constitute 33 (3.46%) of the population and females 30 (3.14%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 8 (0.84%) males constitute 3 (0.31%) of the population and females 5 (0.52%).

The workforce is 285 male, 198 female with 127 (26.29%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 117 males and 10 females. 11 males are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 7 male and 1 female agricultural labor. 356 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Sadri and Pali to sell bricks and make their living.
