Suraj is a small village of 448 hectares in Asind Tehsil in Bhilwara district, also known as the Textile City in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Suraj depends on Asind, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, One tank, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - One river, Two canals and Two springs. Suraj is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Suraj's pin code is 311301[4], and village code is 02786900. The area of Suraj is segregated as 59 hectares irrigated area, 55 hectares unirrigated, the 152 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 146 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Suraj has One public telephone. The village is connected with a single bus service. Suraj has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Suraj is a census village in the district of Bhilwara, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1366 and has total administration over 301 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Suraj has 210 children, 102 boys and 108 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 393 (28.77%) males constitute 207 (15.15%) of the population and females 186 (13.62%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 119 (8.71%) males constitute 66 (4.83%) of the population and females 53 (3.88%).

The workforce is 353 male, 263 female with 302 (49.03%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 167 males and 135 females. 87 males and 94 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 17 male and 17 female agricultural labor. 314 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Asind and Bhilwara to sell earthen pot and make their living.
