Tahtara is a small village of 563 hectares in Rajgarh Tehsil in Alwar district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Tahtara depends on RAJGARH, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, which is 47.00% of the total supply, One tank, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Tahtara is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Tahtara's pin code is 301409[4], and village code is 00914300. The area of Tahtara is segregated as 147 hectares irrigated area, 269 hectares unirrigated, the 75 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 72 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Tahtara has One post office (Tehtra B.O) and Three public telephones. The village is connected with a single bus service. Tahtara has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

Tahtara is a census village in the district of Alwar, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 2231 and has total administration over 373 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Tahtara has 319 children, 184 boys and 135 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 322 (14.43%) males constitute 166 (7.44%) of the population and females 156 (6.99%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 1347 (60.38%) males constitute 744 (33.35%) of the population and females 603 (27.03%).

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of RAJGARH and Alwar to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
