Talab is a small village of 222 hectares in Banswara Tehsil in Banswara district, also known as City of Hundred Islands in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Talab depends on Banswara, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Talab is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Talab's pin code is 327001[4], and village code is 03444200. The area of Talab is segregated as 8 hectares irrigated area, 83 hectares unirrigated, the 50 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 80 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Talab has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Talab is a census village in the district of Banswara, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 659 and has total administration over 132 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Talab has 128 children, 63 boys and 65 girls.
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 659 (100.0%) males constitute 309 (46.89%) of the population and females 350 (53.11%).

Employment[edit]

According to a census 2011 report, 305 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 162 male, 143 female with 219 (71.8%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 136 males and 83 females. 132 males and 76 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 1 male and 1 female agricultural labor. 86 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Banswara to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
