Talai is a small village of 120 hectares in Vallabhnagar Tehsil in Udaipur district in the state of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Talai depends on Udaipur, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 10.00% of the total supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Talai is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Talai's pin code is 313602[4], and village code is 03178600. The area of Talai is segregated as 30 hectares irrigated area, 40 hectares unirrigated, the 40 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 10 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Talai has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Talai is a census village in the district of Udaipur, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 286 and has total administration over 67 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Talai has 41 children, 19 boys and 22 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 9 (3.15%) males constitute 5 (1.75%) of the population and females 4 (1.40%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 16 (5.59%) males constitute 7 (2.45%) of the population and females 9 (3.15%).

The workforce is 88 male, 79 female with 65 (38.92%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 59 males and 6 females. 40 males are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 2 male and 3 female agricultural labor. 102 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Udaipur to sell dori making and make their living.
