Tamkor is a small village of 1490 hectares in Jhunjhunu Tehsil in Jhunjhunu district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Tamkor depends on Jhunjhunu, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, One tank, One tubewell, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Tamkor is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tubewell. Tamkor's pin code is 331026[4], and village code is 00669100. The area of Tamkor is segregated as 1340 hectares unirrigated, the 86 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 64 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Tamkor has One post office (Tamkore S.O) and Two Hundred Seven public telephones. The village is connected with a single bus service. Tamkor has One bank, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Tamkor is a census village in the district of Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 5782 and has total administration over 1070 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Tamkor has 828 children, 417 boys and 411 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 897 (15.51%) males constitute 486 (8.41%) of the population and females 411 (7.11%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 44 (0.76%) males constitute 24 (0.42%) of the population and females 20 (0.35%).

According to a census 2011 report, 2746 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 1516 male, 1230 female with 1697 (61.8%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 1186 males and 511 females. 464 males and 342 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 52 male and 8 female agricultural labor. 1049 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Jhunjhunu to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
