Tanka is a small village of 332 hectares in Amet Tehsil in Rajsamand district, known for Rajsamand Lake, an artificial lake created in the 17th century by Rana Raj Singh in the state of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Tanka depends on AMET, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 26.00% of the total supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Tanka is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Tanka's pin code is 313332[4], and village code is 02983700. The area of Tanka is segregated as 26 hectares irrigated area, 26 hectares unirrigated, the 201.29 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 79 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Tanka is a census village in the district of Rajsamand, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 688 and has total administration over 135 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

- Scheduled caste counts for 232 (33.72%) males constitute 115 (16.72%) of the population and females 117 (17.01%).

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of AMET and Rajsamand to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
