Thana is a small village of 1026 hectares in Dungarpur Tehsil in Dungarpur district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Thana depends on Dungarpur, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, which is 39.00% of the total supply, One tank, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - One river, One canal and Two springs. Thana is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Thana's pin code is 314804[4], and village code is 03298700. The area of Thana is segregated as 155 hectares irrigated area, 382 hectares unirrigated, the 173 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 316 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Thana has One post office (Thana B.O) and Thirteen public telephones. The village is connected with a single bus service. Thana has Two banks, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Thana is a census village in the district of Dungarpur, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 4357 and has total administration over 862 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Thana has 755 children, 404 boys and 351 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 199 (4.57%) males constitute 107 (2.46%) of the population and females 92 (2.11%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 2428 (55.73%) males constitute 1188 (27.27%) of the population and females 1240 (28.46%).

The workforce is 1067 male, 773 female with 730 (39.67%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 547 males and 183 females. 248 males and 100 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 46 male and 23 female agricultural labor. 1110 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Dungarpur to sell earthen pots and make their living.
