Thana is a small village of 1347 hectares in Hindoli Tehsil in Bundi district, also known as a city of stepwells in the State of Rajasthan, India.[1] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Thana depends on BUNDI, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[2] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 6.00% of the total supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Thana is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Thana's pin code is 323025[3], and village code is 02703300. The area of Thana is segregated as 236 hectares irrigated area, 164 hectares unirrigated, the 189 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 509 hectare area not available for cultivation.
Thana has One post office (Thana B.O) and Ten public telephones. Thana has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.
The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Thana is a census village in the district of Bundi, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 2131 and has total administration over 444 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.
- Thana has 256 children, 138 boys and 118 girls.
- Scheduled caste counts for 657 (30.83%) males constitute 352 (16.52%) of the population and females 305 (14.31%).
- Scheduled tribe counts for 616 (28.91%) males constitute 317 (14.88%) of the population and females 299 (14.03%).

Employment[edit]
According to a census 2011 report, 955 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 589 male, 366 female with 718 (75.18%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 510 males and 208 females. 265 males and 175 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 39 male and 10 female agricultural labor. 237 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.
They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Bundi to sell ghee and make their living.
