Thana is a small village of 1347 hectares in Hindoli Tehsil in Bundi district, also known as a city of stepwells in the State of Rajasthan, India.[1] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Thana depends on BUNDI, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[2] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 6.00% of the total supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Thana is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Thana's pin code is 323025[3], and village code is 02703300. The workforce is 589 male, 366 female with 718 (75.18%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 510 males and 208 females. 265 males and 175 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 39 male and 10 female agricultural labor. 237 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.
They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Bundi to sell ghee and make their living.
