The Ally Coalition is an American nonprofit organization serving and advocating for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) youth founded in 2013 by the band fun. (Nate Ruess, Andrew Dost, Jack Antonoff) and fashion designer Rachel Antonoff in 2013.[1]

The Ally Coalition was founded by the band fun. and Rachel Antonoff in 2013, and raises funds and advocates for homeless and at-risk LGBTQ youth. [2]

In 2019, The Ally Coalition released Pride month merchandise with ovelytheband and Walk the Moon.[24][25]

In 2016, The Ally Coalition, Human Rights Campaign and American Apparel produced a line of "Make America Gay Again" products. 30 percent of sales benefitted the Equality Act of 2015.[26][27]

Annual Talent Shows[edit]

Each year, The Ally Coalition produces annual talent shows at Town Hall in NYC hosted by Rachel Antonoff.[28] Past performers include Dixie Chicks, Andrew Dost, Hayley Kiyoko, Taylor Swift, Lana Del Rey, Lorde, Charli XCX, Carly Rae Jepsen, Sara Bareilles, Kasey Musgraves, Spoon, Shamir, and The National.[29]

Microsoft's Feel The Pride Event[edit]

In June 2019, Microsoft and The Ally Coalition created an interactive exhibit in NYC featuring music from St. Vincent.[30]

Frank Turner's Lost Evenings Festival III[edit]

Frank Turner's Lost Evenings Festival at the House of Blues in Boston, MA in May 2019 benefitted The Ally Coalition. Over 29 artists played, including Micah Schnabel, Paul Luc, Amanda Rose Riley, Jinty McGrath, The Penske File, The Typical Johnsons, Kayleigh Goldsworthy, Rebuilder, Owen McMahon, Rob Moir, Seán Tobin and Ryan Van Slooten.[31][32] The festival included an active bystander training by Chadwick Stokes' nonprofit organization Calling All Crows and a panel on mental health by Active Minds. [32][33]

Shadow of the City Festival[edit]

Shadow of the City is an annual festival that takes place in Asbury Park, NJ created by Jack Antonoff. In 2020, Antonoff announced that the Shadow of the City Festival would be turned into a benefit festival, with all proceeds being donated to The Ally Coalition. [34]
