    The Gordon Affair

    The Gordon Affair is a 2021 documentary released on December 7th directed by Joshua Litman and Josh Vander Baan.[1] The documentary follows the stories of students at Gordon College (Massachusetts), a small liberal arts college in Wenham, Massachusetts. The documentary focuses on two events that happened at Gordon College, budget cuts that happened in 2019[2] and racial injustice that happened on campus in 2020.[3] The documentary was presented at the Gordon College Communication Arts Senior Exhibition in December 2021.[4] The Gordon Affair is available to stream on YouTube.[5]

    The first part of The Gordon Affair focuses on the budget cuts of 2019. Five Gordon College students were interviewed about the social work, sociology, physics, and theater arts departments getting cut. Two Gordon College professors were also interviewed. Dr. Kaye Cook, the chair of the psychology department at Gordon College[6], was interviewed on the cutting of the sociology and social work programs. Dr. Oleksiy Svitelskiy, associate professor of physics at Gordon College[7], was interviewed on his program being cut.
