Thobau is a small village of 1843 hectares in Bagora Tehsil in Jalor district, also known as Granite City in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Thobau depends on BHINMAL, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 1508.41% of the total supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Thobau is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tubewell. Thobau's pin code is 343029[4], and village code is 02312900. The area of Thobau is segregated as 1523.41 hectares irrigated area, 181 hectares unirrigated, the 52 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 87 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Thobau is a census village in the district of Jalor, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 3471 and has total administration over 616 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

- Scheduled caste counts for 369 (10.63%) males constitute 193 (5.56%) of the population and females 176 (5.07%).

According to a census 2011 report, 1888 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 930 male, 958 female with 1585 (83.95%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 880 males and 705 females. 619 males and 594 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 86 male and 77 female agricultural labor. 303 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.
They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of BHINMAL and Jalor to sell earthen pot and make their living.
