Tushar Kumar (born May 3rd, 1996) is a Canadian film director, videographer, and entrepreneur.[1] He is the founder and current CEO of Tushar Kumar Films, a leading production house in Ottawa, Ontario. Kumar is also a member of the Canadian Armed Forces.[2][3]

Kumar rose to popularity with his editing work on the behind-the-scenes video Sheikh (Karan Aujla) directed by Rupan Bal. Since then he has delivered many hit videos and worked alongside a number of accomplished and upcoming artists such as Parmish Verma,[4] Jassa Dhillon, Garry Badwal, Karan Aujla, Angrej Ali, Anisha Gulati, Abhishek Dhir, and Yugraj Singh to name a few. Kumar has appeared in a number of music videos, including Dhadak, Relation, and Jatt De Brober.[5]

Early life and education[edit]

Kumar was born on May 3rd, 1996 in India. He moved to Canada in 2007, when he was eleven years old. After completing his high school education, Kumar acquired a diploma from Algonquin College in becoming a Computer Systems Technician. He has been an active member of the Canadian Armed Forces since 2018.

Career[edit]

Kumar debuted in the music industry in 2018. In 2020, but he was given the opportunity to collaborate with Rupan Bal on his "Sheikh (Karan Aujla)" behind-the-scenes video. Kumar edited the video, which went on to become a YouTube sensation with over a million views.[6] He began getting other gigs soon after and has since directed a number of music videos and short films. In the video "Jatt De Brober," he also played the position of assistant director.[7] His catalog includes directing many promotional, cover dance, and music videos.[8] His innovative filmmaking skills have made him a highly sought-after videographer by audiences all around the world.[9]
