Ud is a small village of 885 hectares in Sirohi Tehsil in Sirohi district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Ud depends on SIROHI, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, which is 448.00% of the total supply, One tank, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Ud is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Ud's pin code is 307801[4], and village code is 02350400. The area of Ud is segregated as 468 hectares irrigated area, 213 hectares unirrigated, the 131 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 73 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Ud has One post office (Udd B.O) and Fifteen public telephones. The village is connected with a single bus service. Ud has One bank and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Ud is a census village in the district of Sirohi, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1424 and has total administration over 2776 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Ud has 230 children, 196 boys and 643 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 314 (22.05%) males constitute 329 (23.10%) of the population and females 239 (16.78%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 125 (8.78%) males constitute 114 (8.01%) of the population and females 1304 (91.57%).

According to a census 2011 report, 738 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 318 male, 937 female with 717 (97.15%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 220 males and 175 females. 40 males and 129 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 52 male and 27 female agricultural labor. 21 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Sirohi to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
