Umand is a small village of 767 hectares in Kapasan Tehsil in Chittorgarh district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Umand depends on Kapasan, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 85.37% of the total supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Umand is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Umand's pin code is 312205[4], and village code is 03636400. The area of Umand is segregated as 136.76 hectares irrigated area, 328.77 hectares unirrigated, the 115.85 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 186.05 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Umand has One post office (Umand B.O). The village is connected with a single bus service. Umand has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

Umand is a census village in the district of Chittorgarh, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1677 and has total administration over 368 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Scheduled caste counts for 514 (30.65%) males constitute 265 (15.80%) of the population and females 249 (14.85%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 116 (6.92%) males constitute 55 (3.28%) of the population and females 61 (3.64%).

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Kapasan and Chittorgarh to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
