Umarda is a small village of 3990 hectares in Girwa Tehsil in Udaipur district, also called 'the city of lakes' set amidst the Aravalli Ranges in the state of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Umarda depends on Udaipur, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 4.00% of the total supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Umarda is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Umarda's pin code is 313015[4], and village code is 03152200. The area of Umarda is segregated as 143 hectares irrigated area, 230 hectares unirrigated, the 519 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 2053 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Umarda has One post office and Ten public telephones. The village is connected with a single bus service. Umarda has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Umarda is a census village in the district of Udaipur, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 4506 and has total administration over 829 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Umarda has 724 children, 358 boys and 366 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 269 (5.97%) males constitute 136 (3.02%) of the population and females 133 (2.95%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 3305 (73.35%) males constitute 1634 (36.26%) of the population and females 1671 (37.08%).

The workforce is 1245 male, 607 female with 1374 (74.19%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 958 males and 416 females. 152 males and 254 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 23 male and 16 female agricultural labor. 478 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Udaipur to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
