Umri is a small village of 1095 hectares in Mandal Tehsil in Bhilwara district, also known as the Textile City in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Umri depends on Deogarh, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, which is 20.39% of the total supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Umri is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Umri's pin code is 311803[4], and village code is 02839900. The area of Umri is segregated as 44 hectares irrigated area, 222.49 hectares unirrigated, the 475.7 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 352.8 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Umri has One post office (Umari B.O) and Four public telephones. The village is connected with a single bus service. Umri has Two banks, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Umri is a census village in the district of Bhilwara, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1641 and has total administration over 356 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Umri has 226 children, 119 boys and 107 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 521 (31.75%) males constitute 258 (15.72%) of the population and females 263 (16.03%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 252 (15.36%) males constitute 124 (7.56%) of the population and females 128 (7.80%).

According to a census 2011 report, 946 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 498 male, 448 female with 485 (51.27%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 349 males and 136 females. 164 males and 8 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 100 male and 119 female agricultural labor. 461 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Deogarh and Bhilwara to sell ghee and make their living.
