University of Massachusetts Boston

In the city of Boston, Massachusetts, you'll find the Institution of Massachusetts Boston (also known as UMass Boston), which is a public research university. It is the sole public research institution in the city of Boston and the third-largest campus in the University of Massachusetts system, which has a total of five campuses. The University of Massachusetts Boston is the third most diverse institution of higher education in the United States. Although the majority of students at the University of Massachusetts Boston are from the state of Massachusetts, a significant number of UMass Boston's students come from outside of the state as well as from other countries. UMass Boston has a long history of supporting the city of Boston, including various relationships with local community groups. The university was established with a specific urban purpose in mind when it was first established. Both the Coalition of Urban Serving Universities and the Coalition of Urban and Metropolitan Universities count this educational establishment as one of their official member institutions.

Off of Interstate 93 and within one mile of the JFK/UMass MBTA Station on the Red Line and the Old Colony Lines of the Commuter Rail is where you'll find the University of Massachusetts Boston. Beginning in June 2021, the UMass Boston shuttle service will no longer be offered, and the MBTA Bus Routes 8 and 16 will now make stops at the university's Residence Hall as part of their new routes.

In addition to granting degrees at the bachelor's, master's, and doctorate levels, the institution offers certificate programmes and educational opportunities for continuing education, corporate training, and remote learning.
