Upreda is a small village of 996 hectares in Banera Tehsil in Bhilwara district, also known as the Textile City in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Upreda depends on Shahpura, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 4.00% of the total supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Upreda is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Upreda's pin code is 311408[4], and village code is 02827200. The area of Upreda is segregated as 127 hectares irrigated area, 527.11 hectares unirrigated, the 283.09 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 59.17 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Upreda has One post office (Upreda S.O) and One public telephone. The village is connected with a single bus service. Upreda has Two banks, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Upreda is a census village in the district of Bhilwara, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1650 and has total administration over 368 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Upreda has 271 children, 132 boys and 139 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 383 (23.21%) males constitute 195 (11.82%) of the population and females 188 (11.39%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 57 (3.45%) males constitute 30 (1.82%) of the population and females 27 (1.64%).

According to a census 2011 report, 872 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 441 male, 431 female with 575 (65.94%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 401 males and 174 females. 178 males and 75 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 35 male and 71 female agricultural labor. 297 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Shahpura and Bhilwara to sell earthen pot and make their living.
