Utah Valley University

Orem, Utah is home to Utah Valley Institution (often known as UVU), which is a public university. Certificate programmes, associate degrees, bachelor's degrees, and master's degrees are all available to students at UVU. The institution, which had previously been known as Utah Valley State College, was elevated to the rank of university in July of 2008.

The UVSC became the UVU on July 1, 2008, marking the institution's transition from college to university status. In the Fall Semester of 2018, the Utah System of Higher Education (USHE) revealed that UVU has surpassed the Institution of Utah to become the biggest university in the state with 39,931 students. This makes UVU the largest university in the state for the fourth year in a row.

The University of Utah is the city of Orem's biggest employer, with more than 1,900 full-time faculty and staff members and more than 3,300 part-time faculty and staff members.

When it was still a community college, the institution had a total enrollment of 8,000 students and was seeing an annual growth rate of roughly 3,000 students. During the autumn semester of 2010, the institution had a total enrollment of 32,670 students. In the autumn of 2012, there were 31,556 students registered for classes.

Since 2018, Dr. Astrid S. Tuminez has served as the president of the organisation, making her the very first woman to hold that position at the university. In 2018, the Utah State Board of Regents made the decision to nominate Tuminez, who followed in the footsteps of Matthew S. Holland.
