Varniya is a small village of 167 hectares in Amet Tehsil in Rajsamand district, known for Rajsamand Lake, an artificial lake created in the 17th century by Rana Raj Singh in the state of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Varniya depends on AMET, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Varniya is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Varniya's pin code is 313332[4], and village code is 02990700. The area of Varniya is segregated as 13 hectares irrigated area, 9 hectares unirrigated, the 105.61 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 39 hectare area not available for cultivation.

The village is connected with a single bus service. Varniya has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Varniya is a census village in the district of Rajsamand, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 130 and has total administration over 20 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Varniya has 22 children, 11 boys and 11 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 19 (14.62%) males constitute 8 (6.15%) of the population and females 11 (8.46%).

The workforce is 48 male, 32 female with 51 (63.75%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 39 males and 12 females. 22 males and 6 females are considered as the main cultivators. 29 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of AMET and Rajsamand to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
