Velar is a small village of 3643 hectares in Bali Tehsil in Pali district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Velar depends on Bali, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 51.00% of the total supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Velar is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Velar's pin code is 306504[4], and village code is 02481300. The area of Velar is segregated as 51 hectares irrigated area, 923 hectares unirrigated, the 1482 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 542 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Velar has Six public telephones. Velar has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Velar is a census village in the district of Pali, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1211 and has total administration over 246 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Velar has 180 children, 99 boys and 81 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 276 (22.79%) males constitute 162 (13.38%) of the population and females 114 (9.41%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 166 (13.71%) males constitute 82 (6.77%) of the population and females 84 (6.94%).

The workforce is 359 male, 155 female with 269 (52.33%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 225 males and 44 females. 57 males and 13 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 13 male and 20 female agricultural labor. 245 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Bali and Pali to sell earthen pot and make their living.
