Vishnu Vettrivel is an American startup veteran, technologist, biomedical researcher, and data scientist.[1][2] He is the founder and CTO of Wisecube, a startup company focusing on expediting biomedical research by utilizing AI.[3] He has over a decade of expertise in building data platforms and teams in digital marketing, healthcare, and financial services domains.[4][5]
Vishnu was born and raised in Chennai, India. He studied at Adarsh Senior Secondary School and later enrolled at the University of Madras to pursue his bachelor’s in computer science and engineering. In 2008, Vishnu joined Carnegie Mellon University and completed his master's in software management in 2010. Additionally, Vishnu also holds a certification in machine learning from Coursera, which he obtained in April 2016.
Vishnu began working as a consultant for organizations such as Computech Inc., Wells Fargo, and Punditlabs Inc. after earning his bachelor's degree. He joined PayPal's merchant services team as a software engineer in August 2007.[6] At Paypal, he was responsible for identifying business needs, creating products, preparing technical design papers, conducting reviews, implementing new product features using Java, SQL, and C, and providing technical advice and direction to other software engineers.[7]
In 2010, Vishnu became a senior software design engineer at Microsoft and contributed to developing a technological vision for the future of Xbox LIVE's Service Deployment, Management, Monitoring, Business Intelligence, and Storage.[8]
In 2011, Vishnu joined Atigeo as the director of engineering. At Atigeo, he led and implemented analytics-driven solutions across healthcare, cyber, government, and energy industries. He also led the architecture and delivery of Atigeo's self-service analytics platform: xPatterns, and unified the company’s software engineering methodology.[9]
In 2016, Vishnu became the Director of Data at Voicebox Technologies. He was in charge of constructing teams, directing and supervising the development of product roadmaps and budgets for data teams, and assuring the delivery of products to the speech technology market.[10]
In 2017, Vishnu joined Usermind as the Vice President of Engineering. After joining Usermind, Vishnu built the organization's engineering team and worked on re-architecting the platform to resolve difficulties related to its inability to scale.[11]
Vettrivel founded Wisecube in October 2016. Wisecube is a company that focuses on expediting biomedical research by utilizing AI. The company focuses on building knowledge graphs to help biotech and pharma companies with their drug discovery research.[12]
