Vreta Kolarac (second half of the 18th century and beginning of 19th-century) distinguished himself as a brave voivode in the First Serbian Uprising.[1] Vreta Kolarac's origin can be traced to today's North Macedonia,[2]but the exact place where he was born is not known. He arrived long before Karađorđe led the insurrection [3]and settled in the village of Kolari near Smederevo. He was among the first volunteers who joined the fighters under the command of Vule Vulićević. Conspicuous for his bravery, [4]he distinguished himself in several campaigns, including Mačva, Bijeljina, and the Battle of Mišar. [5]He held the title of Binbashi while in Smederevo and later on, he was named voivode.
