Wanda is a small village of 647 hectares in Bagidora Tehsil in Banswara district, also known as City of Hundred Islands in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Wanda depends on Partapur, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 80.64% of the total supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - One river, Two canals and Two springs. Wanda is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Wanda's pin code is 327031[4], and village code is 03457000. The area of Wanda is segregated as 80.64 hectares irrigated area, 98 hectares unirrigated, the 283 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 185 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Wanda has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Wanda is a census village in the district of Banswara, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1346 and has total administration over 286 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Wanda has 307 children, 150 boys and 157 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 2 (0.15%) males constitute 1 (0.07%) of the population and females 1 (0.07%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 1336 (99.26%) males constitute 678 (50.37%) of the population and females 658 (48.89%).

Employment[edit]

The workforce is 393 male, 357 female with 288 (38.4%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 171 males and 117 females. 131 males and 105 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 13 male and 7 female agricultural labor. 462 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Partapur and Banswara to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
