Waterloo, Ontario

The city of Waterloo found in the province of Ontario in Canada. The Regional Municipality of Waterloo includes it as one of its three cities in total (formerly Waterloo County). Located about 94 kilometres (58 miles) to the west-southwest of Toronto lies the city of Waterloo. Because of Kitchener and Waterloo's near geographic proximity to one another, the two cities are often referred to together as "Kitchener–Waterloo," "K-W," or "The Twin Cities."

Since the formation of the Region of Waterloo in 1973, there has been less motivation to combine the municipalities of Waterloo and Kitchener. As a result, Waterloo continues to exist as a separate city despite the fact that several attempts to do so have been made, all of which have been unsuccessful. The population of Waterloo was counted at 121,436 at the census that was taken in 2021.
