    Web browser

From Wikitia - Reading time: 1 min

A web browser (often referred to as a browser) is software that allows you to access the World Wide Web and other websites. When a user visits a specific website and enters the URL of a web page, the web browser requests the required material from the website's web server and then displays the page on the user's computer or mobile device.

A web browser and a search engine are not the same thing, despite the fact that the two are often confused. Any website that offers connections to other websites is known as a search engine. Users must, however, have a web browser installed on their computer in order to connect to the server of a website and see its web pages.

Web browsers are used on a wide range of systems, including desktop computers, laptops, tablets, and smartphones, among others. An estimated 4.9 billion individuals will use a browser by 2020, according to estimates. Google Chrome is the most widely used browser, with a 64 percent worldwide market share across all devices, followed by Safari, which has a 19 percent market share.
