Yamen Zakaria Mohamed Selim (born September 8, 1994) is an Egyptian Animation Producer and Film Editor, who has worked in the film industry since 2010. He began his career as Film Editor. Yamen is best known for his work on Between Two Seas 2019 and Kizazi Moto: Generation Fire 2023.
Life and career[edit]
Yamen was born in Cairo, Egypt. From a young age, he was captivated by storytelling and media, which led him to enter the field of filmmaking. Yamen's career encompasses diverse roles in pre-production to post-production. He first made a name for himself as a Film Editor, being drawn to the process of transforming raw footage into a polished final product that evokes emotions and tells a compelling story.
His early career involved managing post-production for award-winning feature film (Between Two Seas).[1][2] and TV series like Suhail Adventures.
Intrigued by the world of animation, Yamen began transitioning into this field. He has been working with Giraffics as a Producer on Disney+'s first African Animated Series "Kizazi Moto: Generation Fire”[3].
Awards and recognition[edit]
Yamen's work has received national and international recognition. He won Best Film Editor at the 68th Egyptian Catholic Center Film Festival [4] & the Egyptian National Film Festival 2021 [5] for "Between Two Seas". The film also won Best Narrative Feature Film at the Brooklyn Film Festival in 2019 [6][7]
