Yamina Peerzada is a Pakistani actress and puppeteer. She played a leading role in Haseena Moin's Anjaane Nagar (2013) and won Lux Style Award for Best TV Actress - Terrestrial for her performance in Roshni Andhera Roshni (2013). Her performance in Babar Javed's Roag (2011) earned her a nomination of Pakistan Media Award for Best Supporting Actress as well.

Early life[edit]

Peerzada was born into the family of Rafi Peer, and daughter of Sadaan Peerzada. She is the niece of actor Usman Peerzada.^[1]

In 2017, she married to musician Jaffer Zaidi.^[2]

Career[edit]

Peerzada made her acting debut in 2009 with a side role in Usman Peerzada's directorial Rangeel Pur which aired on PTV Home.^[3] In 2013, she played the protagonist role in Haseena Moin's Anjaane Nagar.^[4] She received Lux Style Award for Best TV Actress - Terrestrial for her performance in Roshni Andhera Roshni.^[5] In 2017, she played a role in Geo TV's drama Khan.^[6]

As a granddaughter of Rafi Peer, she has taken forward the legacy of her grandfather and frequently works as a puppeteer in festivals and theatre puppet shows.^[7][8][9]
