Yasushi Koyama (小山 裕史, born 14 November 1956) is a Japanese physical trainer, reseacher of sports science, kinesiology, and muscle physiology.
Koyama was born in Tottori, Japan, graduated from Osaka University of Economics. In 1981, he founded a training gym "Workd Wing" in Tottori.
Koyama is an ex-champion of Japan Bodybuilding & Fitness Federation. He won the ABBF Asian Bodybuilding and Fitness Championships three times in 1983, 1984, and 1989.
In 1994, Koyama published "The Beginning Movement Load Theory".[1] Ichiro Suzuki[2][3][4], Koji Ito[5], and Isao Aoki are among the practioners of Koyama's training method.
Koyama pursued the validity of his training method in academia and obtained a PhD in 2011 from Waseda University.
