Windows XP[edit | edit source]

To enable the Devanagari Script on your computer:

• Open the Start Menu
• Goto the Control Panel
• Open Regional and Language Options
• On the Languages tab, select Install files for complex script and right to left languages.

This may require you to restart your computer.

To write in Devanagari with your computer:

• Go to www.bhashaindia.com[1]
• Download and install Indic IME 1 (v5.0) (This will require a .net account which is free to sign up for)
• Open the Start Menu
• Goto the Control Panel
• Open Regional and Language Options
• On the Languages tab, open the text services and input languages — details tab
• On the settings tab, select add
• In the box that opens select Language — Hindi and Keyboard — Hindi Indic IME 1[V 5.0]

You should now be able to swap between languages using left alt + shift
