Health and Wellbeing of People with Developmental Disabilities

From Wikiversity - Reading time: 2 min

Nothing to learn from here;entirely generic text, e.g. "Please watch the videos in each playlist" but there is no link to a playlist; no further reading/external links; the subpage Health and Wellbeing of People with Developmental Disabilities/Objectives and assessment does not add much value either; moving to a user subpage is fine--user:Dan Polansky

In this subject you will be introduced to people with developmental disabilities and hear directly from them about their lives. We hope that by learning about their experiences you will develop an understanding of the roles played by health and human services professionals in supporting their health, wellbeing, and social inclusion.

Please watch the videos in each playlist, and go through the activity sheets (under development)

You will be introduced to current principles and values that are key to positive interactions between people with developmental disabilities and health and social service providers. You will develop an understanding of inter-professional practice in health, and other professions contributing to the health and social inclusion of people with developmental disabilities.

Your learning in this subject will be assessed through a written test, a learning journal and a contribution to a written discussion.
