PROFILE OF IBS

The Integrated Business School (IBS) is a world–class Nigerian School established in 2006 (as Model Business School) to cushion the challenges of a developing society. It is a fully recognized non – residential Business School – offering broadly diversified though integrated programmes of study.

IBS programmes are designed;

(i) To meet the needs of business executives by preparing them in highly specialized fields for gaining access to the real world of business. (ii) To prepare beneficiaries for the complex demands of a modern society by equipping them with professional and intellectual capacities that transcend their core competences. (iii) To bestow the beneficiaries with appropriate and relevant keys for creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship needed for self-reliance and economic growth (iv) To provide our students with opportunities for passion about both learning and doing. (v) To promote ethical values among the students by inculcating in them ethical principles for doing business, living values and best practices

At IBS, we are sure that today’s business executives need more than a sophisticated understanding of the world of business. In other to excel in a highly competitive global economy, they need environmental challenges.

Our real world approach to learning ensures that learners are made to develop an in-depth knowledge, leadership capabilities and a range of skills that will help them step confidently into a rewarding career-entailing the creation, management and operation of an efficient service delivery system necessary for business growth and survival.

MISSION STATEMENT IBS will continue to strive to be a leading world-class school that deals in management and business education. VISION To produce world-class professional Managers/Administrators/Entrepreneurs GOALS (i) To acquire capabilities for producing leading world-class graduates in 2020. (ii) To raise a minimum student population of 2000 in 2010 (iii) To hire and develop competent and highly motivated professionals.

STRATEGIES (i) To have a network of branches in the six geo-political zones of Nigeria (ii) To co-operate and collaborate with institutions of international standards (locally and internationally) (iii) To hire, develop, motivate and retain a committed, disciplined and research oriented academic team (iv) To be fair to all staff, students and other stakeholders (v) To acquire and effectively use modern instructional facilities that conform to international standards.

CORPORATE CULTURE (i) IBS believes in quality (process and product). It has a team of highly motivated academic and non-academic staff with passion for the common goal. (ii) IBS maintains an effective Organizational Chart. There is a highly effective organizational chart, with all the departments working together to get the synergy effect.

ORGANOGRAM


ACADEMIC BOARD The Academic Board consists of the Registrar (as Chairman), Academic Secretary, Director (Academic Programmes), Head of Departments, representatives from the Academia, representatives from the Ministry of Education, the Governing Council and Congregation. It regulates academic activities in the school.

CONGREGATION This is composed of all degree holders in IBS. It reviews both academic and non-academic polices in IBS.

GOVERNING COUNCIL This is a 15-man council that is responsible for policy making in IBS.

PROGRAMMES OF STUDY When it comes to hiring staff, goal-oriented employers consider a candidate’s familiarity with the core competencies of the profession as well as his ability to effectively create and transform situations for positive outcomes. IBS’s response is to equip the candidate with an extra edge for leadership and managerial distinctions.

Some of the programmes/courses for actualizing IBS goals include; - Financial Management - General Management - Strategic Marketing - Managerial Policies and Strategies - Organizational Behaviour - Human Resource Management - Business Law - Information Technology Management - Purchasing, Supply & Stores Management - Entrepreneurship & Small Business Management - Co-operative/Production Management - Business Ethics & Social Responsibility - Public Relations - Leadership Development - Communication & Speech Writing - Consulting - Project Management - Capital Market Studies - Transport Management & Logistics


CERTIFICATION Certificates/Ordinary Diplomas/Higher Diplomas/Post Graduate Diplomas are awarded upon successful completion of any of the programmes.

QUALIFICATION FOR ADMISSION WASC (Five Credits)/OND/HND/BA/BSC. Waivers are available for mature students.

RECOGNITION IBS is conferred by the Federal Government of Nigeria under the Act of Parliament (1990) with the right to conduct Management, Business and Continuing Education. It is also accredited by the Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered) for producing professional Managers. The Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered) was established in 1961 for promoting and regulating management practice in Nigeria. IBS collaborates with the Institute of Transport Administration to run courses in Transport Management, Logistics etc FUNDING IBS is a private institution and wholly funded by the founders.
