The contents of 'Nigerian Legal System as a learning resource is to expose young and senior lawyers, and researchers to understand the Nigerian Legal System, the concept of law, the classification of law, sources of Nigeria law, customary law, the different courts in Nigeria legal system, civil and criminal procedure in Nigeria legal system and the legal profession in Nigeria. This course material serves as a learning resource for individuals planning to study law in Nigeria and lawyers outside Nigeria that want to understand the Nigerian legal system.

The term or phrase legal system means, the laws, courts, personnel of the law and the administration of the justice system in a given state, country or geographical entity.[1]
