Probabilistic Databases

[edit | edit source]

Probabilistic Databases are the outcome of joining probability theory with database management systems. They are based on the fact that in real world most of the information is probabilistic, there is an element of uncertainty associated with that. These databases are capable of handling this type of uncertainty as they are capable of performing probabilistic computation over the facts stored in them. The practical systems are not available to the date however theoretically they claim to be very good at what they do.
