Summary

We're analyzing the power supply to figure out how to reconnect the wires to get the fan working.

Story

The first thing we needed to do was unscrew the cover. That took at least half an hour total for everybody. Then we had to figure out what was what inside the power supply. We first found that the wires to the fan itself were red and green. Then we looked for wires connecting to the power intake. We found two, which were blue and brown. We also thought that the purple, gray, and green wires might be power related because they looked to be connected near the power intake. We cut off some of the plastic ends on the wires to see if that had anything to do with it. We figured that we needed to connect power wires to the fan wires. We tried stripping and twisting together different combinations of the purple, gray, and green wires with the black and red wires. We found that stripping and twisting together the green and black wires got the fan working when plugged in.
