Marcel Marceau

Marcel Mangel (b. 1923 - d. September, 2007), better known as Marcel Marceau was a French - Jewish mime artist. He performs mime in whiteface as his character "Bip".

Marceau popularized the "art of silence" all over the world. In 1956 he won an Emmy award; he was made "Officer de la Legion d'Honneur" (1978) and "Grand Officer de la Legion d'Honneur" (1998).
