Terri Sewell is a public finance attorney and Democrat U.S. Representative from Alabama's 7th congressional district, succeeding Artur Davis, who retired to run for Governor. She is a member of the House Agriculture Committee and Science, Space and Technology Committee.

Sewell is the first black women elected to Congress from Alabama.
