Design Works Engineering is a Canadian design company that specializes in electrical, mechanical, structural, and civil engineering. The company was founded in 2014 by Haydar Al Dahhan and John Lehners. As of 2020, Design Works Engineering has eight offices in Canada and the Philippines. The company is known for its integrated engineering service that covers electrical, structural and mechanical engineering. Since its founding, Design Works Engineering has served the civic community, education, health, hospitality, industrial, mixed-use, municipal, office, residential and retail sectors. It has gained media attention for its design and engineering works for buildings including Agora Borealis, Ten88 Tower, Pioneer Place, and Prologis Shop.[1][2][3][4]

In 2014, the company with a team of two has now outgrown to a team of 76 experts. The company induces leading technology like Carrier HAP, Trace 700 HVAC Solution Software, and SolidWorks with decades of experience to serve the vision of creating solutions to build grand projects and stronger relationships. Design Works Engineering is expanding its operations in Africa and the Middle east.[5][6][7][8]

History[edit]

Design Works Engineering was founded in 2014 in Grande Prairie by engineering veterans Haydar Al Dahhan and John Lehners. Right after the launch, the company started seeing  growth and they opened their second office Edmonton in  January 2015. Seven months later, Design Works Engineering expanded beyond Canada and opened offices in Davao, Makati, and Cebu in the Philippines.[9][10][11]

In January 2017, Design Works Engineering opened an office in Calgary for further expansion. The founders also expanded their existing offices in Edmonton and Grande Prairie to add more people in their team. In 2019, the company’s growth continued and they opened Toronto to explore the Eastern market in Canada. Four months later, the company opened another office in Vancouver to expand their business in the West coast.[12][13][14]

Design Works Engineering announced that their expansion will continue and they will open their offices outside of North America and will open offices globally to expand their reach and business.[15][16][17][18][19]
