German rabbi; born 1843 at Wongrowitz, Posen. He studied at the University of Berlin, and was prepared for his rabbinical career by private teachers. After officiating as rabbi for a short time at Zurich, he went in 1872 in a similar capacity to Nuremberg. Since 1884 he has been preacher of the Reform congregation in Berlin.
