Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is one of the sixteen federal states (Bundesländer) of Germany. It is situated in the north-east of the federal republic and shares borders with the Baltic Sea to the north, Poland to the east, and the neighboring federal states of Brandenburg to the south, Lower Saxony to the southwest, and Sleswick-Holsatia to the west.[1]
The capital of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is Schwerin.
