Eagles

The Eagles were an immensely popular rock band in the 1970s who had multiple hit songs, such as "Hotel California," "Desperado," and "Take It Easy." They broke up in 1980 reportedly due to internal disagreements, but reunited in 1994 and continued performing until 2015.

Their 1976 album "Hotel California" is considered to be one of the greatest albums of all time. It sold more than 16 million copies, and its title track is the hit solo by the same name.

The Eagles were once so popular that their reference in a song to "standin' on the corner in Winslow, Arizona" inspired 100,000 people to visit the remote former rail hub.^[1]

Bob Dylan stated in 2020 that he considers the Eagles' song “Pretty Maids in a Row,” which is on their “Hotel California” album, to be “one of the best songs ever.”^[2]

One commentator suggested that their song "The Last Resort," which is the final track on the "Hotel California" album, is an under-recognized gem.^[3]
