An insult prize is an award by liberals designed to insult a person who was unjustifiably passed over in giving the award for his work to someone else, such as someone who worked under his direction.
Examples of an insult prize include:
- awarding the Nobel Prize for work done by Fred Hoyle to someone who worked under his direction
- awarding the Nobel Prize for insights by Robert Dicke to researchers less understanding of the theory
- Awarding the Nobel Prize to Al Gore for his sensationalist claims concerning climate science while ignoring the work of responsible climate scientists who objectively examine all of the evidence concerning climate change.
