Jervis Bay Territory

From Conservapedia

Jervis Bay Territory is a small enclave on the New South Wales south coast. It contains a National Park, a naval base, and an Aboriginal community. The adjacent town of Jervis Bay is not actually in the territory, but is part of the state of New South Wales. It is directly administered by the federal government; but for a number of purposes it is treated as part of the ACT.

In the 1970s, Jervis Bay Territory was the planned site of what would have become Australia's first commercial nuclear reactor, but it was cancelled in the early stages of construction.

Near Jarvis Bay Territory there is a small coastal portion of the Australian Capital Territory, which however is uninhabited. The original purpose of both Jervis Bay Territory, and the coastal portion of the ACT, was to ensure that the federal government had access to the sea.
