Robert William Weis, commonly known as Bob Weis (born in 1957) is an author and former President of Walt Disney Imagineering.[1] His 2024 book Dream Chasing chronicles his forty-year career at Walt Disney Imagineering, foreword by Bob Iger and is published by Disney Editions.
Weis joined Walt Disney Imagineering in 1980 after receiving a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. During his career with Walt Disney Imagineering Weis contributed to all Disney Parks around the world, as well as resort designs, and Disney Cruise Line.[2] He was also President of Walt Disney Imagineering from 2016-2022.[3]
Since 2023 Weis has been global leader of immersive experience design at Gensler, the world's largest architectural firm.[4] He was named one of the top 50 influencers in experience design for 2024 by blooloop.[5][6]
He is recipient of the Buzz Price Lifetime Achievement Award from the Themed Entertainment Association (Thea).[7]
Disney's Hollywood Studios Window Dedicated to Former Imagineer Bob Weis Installed in 2023 to recognize his lifetime achievement at Walt Disney Imagineering.[8]
Weis received an honorary PHD from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona in 2021.[9] He lives in Pasadena, California with his wife and daughter.
