In Burwell v. Hobby Lobby Stores, 134 S. Ct. 2751 (2014), a 5–4 U.S. Supreme Court decision held that the protections of religious liberty under the Religious Freedom Restoration Act extend to closely held for-profit corporations, in this case, the multibillion-dollar Hobby Lobby Stores.
